The University of San Diego (USD) is a Catholic institution of higher learning chartered in 1949. It is known for its commitment to teaching the liberal arts, the formation of values and community service. The College of Arts and Sciences includes 33 departments and 150 faculty teaching more than 800 graduate and undergraduate students. USD's natural sciences curriculum includes four departments: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Marine Sciences and Environmental Studies.  

 

In addition, located at USD are a School of Business Administration, School of Leadership and Education Sciences, School of Law, School of Nursing & Health Science,and School of Peace Studies.
