The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) offers a variety undergraduate and graduate degree programs that can prepare students to enter or progress in the biotechnology/ pharmaceutical arena. The Division of Biological Sciences offers Academic Sections in Cell & Developmental Biology; Molecular Biology; Neurobiology; and Ecology, Behavior & Evolution. Other departments include: the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, the Department of Bioengineering, the Department of Neuroscience, the Department of Pharmacology, and the Interdisciplinary Bioinformatics Program. Also at UCSD are the School of Medicine (SOM), the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, San Diego Supercomputer Center, and the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. A Molecular Pathology PhD program is jointly offered by UCSD SOM and the Burnham Institute.
